West Coast had nice gas price breather, now its back to "the game"

GasBuddy Blog -- Gasoline prices are set to vault higher along the West Coast after weeks of decline. Massive decline. Last week, even as the national average rose, prices in the West Coast region fell. The party is about to be over, folks.

After reports surfaced of refining issues in California, spot prices (today's wholesale cost) has risen. Let's be clear- there are futures prices (generally for oil delivered a month or so from now), and there are spot prices (for gasoline, what stations pay refiners today for a massive purchase of gasoline). Spot prices have accelerated along the West Coast in the last two days, much quicker than other areas.

But don't feel alone, West Coast motorists- for motorists in Michigan are seeing a double...

The article, imo does not demonstrate it. Prices across the country are also rising not just in Washington State. Once again, please provide statistical numbers to backup increase in prices at any level. Furthermore, please provide proof to us consumers that any excuse the oil companies provide to you or the media is indeed jusitfied and relative to the issue by increasing $.xx/gallon at the pump. Without this proof, you're almost as guilty as the refineries of spreading misleading or even false information. Perhaps you or your employees have shares in the oil industry or have a vested interest in promoting high gas prices with a "suck-it-up" and walk away mentality. He can post as much and as often or long as he wants. And the GB "gods" can take down articles that they don't like. Something that seems to happen a lot lately again.

Perhaps a refinery's up-time should be published weekly, with those falling below a certain threshold forced to improve their facilities, or face a state-mandated penalty. Are you listening Governor Brown?

Probably a city or two in Michigan as well. That is, if the problem of lack of jobs and decent paying jobs isn't fixed. Obama hasn't fixed it and I didn't think he would, Romney won't probably fix it if elected, so we're probably screwed. As far as price increases of double digits. It's happened far too frequently, and not in Michigan or Ohio alone. We've had them here as well.
